THE HISTORY OF KITTENPANTS
Kittenpants originally started as a book club, which soon became boring, but gave me a reason to start the KP newsletter. Each month (ish) a new issue was released, full of mostly bullshit articles that I thought were funny, and that I wrote myself. I did have a few contributors back then, and they kept me going when it seemed very pointless.

Then I got my first interview. Joe Bob Briggs agreed to let me pick his brain, and the real fun started. All of a sudden there was a reason for strangers to visit my website, and I started getting subscribers who weren't friends/forced. Not many, but a few. Inspired, I tracked down Bruce Campbell for an interview, and more and more people started contributing articles and artwork and ideas.

I found Adam Liebling, who publishes a fantastic magazine called READ.  Adam decided to reprint some kittenpants articles in his magazine, and has since given kittenpants it's own section in each issue. I also teamed up with the boys at Haypenny.com, who invited me out to Detroit for the first KP live performance in October, 2002.

The first Kittenpants-sponsored event was held April 28, 2002 in Dallas, TX, on my 30th birthday, which also marked the 2nd year anniversary of kittenpants. It served as an excuse for the reunion of the greatest Art Rock band the world has ever seen: DOOMS UK. They were joined by The Banes, Baboon, and Corn Mo, and you can see some of the photos here!

For my 31st birthday, TWO shows were held in NYC, featuring the reunion of DOUBLE DONG + WYLD LIXX, as well as Corn Mo, Pink Steel, and a variety of entertainers, including special appearances by Jon Benjamin, and Jon Glaser, and the special disappearance of the sound guy.

This year also saw the release of the first ever Kittenpants CD, a whole line of KP merch, and the launch of kittenpants productions, which is just an excuse for me to be able to produce live shows, television shows, and feature films.

What will we think of next? I'm thinking about a line of luxury vehicles, or smoked meat products. I'll let you know. Meanwhile, if you want to know more, read these FAQs.
