I TOLD YOU IT WOULD KICK ASS AND IT DID.
WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT FROM ME?

This year's kittenpants birthday party successfully rocked, rolled, and entertained. The two-day celebration began April 26 with a balls-out performance by Pink Steel. Corn Mo rocked so hard, he threw up in his mouth. And the reunion of Double Dong and Wyld Lixx was hotter, wetter, and more perfect than I could have expected.

The party continued the following evening at Pianos, with a rock and roll variety show that gave musicians a chance to mix it up and perform songs with each other (a la Rock Lottery, but not quite) and generally ham it up.

Thanks to special guest stars Jon Benjamin and Jon Glaser who surprised everyone with their performance of "that New Order song" that pissed off the sound man so much he stormed out. It was a hilarious high point, most of which I missed, as I was running after the sound man to convince him to return. Totally worth it, though.

Thanks to Ann Marie Selzer, for helping mastermind the shows, and to everyone who came (with presents, even!). Thanks also to Mike Gold for making dirty balloons and to P5 for her pink and blue cupcakes.

Super-thanks to all the performers, who blew me away and made getting old maybe not such a bad thing after all. You totally rule. Extra-thanks to Martin Iles who stuck around extra-late to DJ, and DD+WL's Ghost Krabb, who flew in from Man Francisco just 'cuz I asked him to. You're the best, ever.

One final thanks to Noel and Counter from Pianos and Quinn from Tinkle, who were all really helpful at a time when I was distracted, hungover, and anxious. You were swell.

Look for the next kittenpants event within the next 3 months. When the Kittenpants CD is finally released, we plan to kick it off with a full scale rock assault, including (possibly?) a performance by a visiting Baboon. (Score!)

WHAT ABOUT THAT CD?
The CD is coming along swimmingly, thanks. Start throwing away all your other CDs now.
