Hardcastle and McCormick Episode Guide
by Steve Douglass!

Episode 1: Damp Thunder
As the series begins, ex-race car driver Mark McCormick (football’s Brian Bosworth) accepts a job driving the Coyote X, an experimental car designed by a friend of his named Flip Johnson (Flip Wilson). Mark loses his job, however, after Flip is killed in a car accident and ownership of the car is granted to industrialist Martin Cody (Martin Mull). Flip's daughter, Barbara (Barbara Johnson), believing that Cody murdered Flip to get the Coyote, asks Mark to steal the experimental car.

The police, who identified Mark when he stopped to save a police officer's life, move in and arrest the ex-race car driver. To Cody's regret, the police are unable to locate the Coyote. Brought before Hardcastle (Hardcastle), Mark is given a choice: help the judge round-up two hundred men who walked out of the judge's courtroom on technicalities, or go back to prison.

Carefully considering his options, Mark agrees to work for Hardcastle. Then, the evil and sexy Queen of Ramsey 7 (guest star Tony Curtis) joins up with an invading force of moon men (Flip Wilson) to become the most powerful woman on earth. Hardcastle and McCormick foil her plot using a racecar.

Episode 2: The Crystal Duck
McCormick and the Judge get stranded in the wilderness after a plane crash and run up against deranged environmentalists. Hardcastle and McCormick foil their plot using a racecar. [Note: this episode is perhaps best known for featuring the first ever use of the word “tea-bagging” on network television]

Also, a rock star and his model girlfriend seek sanctuary in Hardcastle’s mudroom, where they try to kick their drug addictions and find out if they have a life beyond the public recognition. Hardcastle and McCormick foil their plot using a racecar.

Episode 4: Mirage a Trois
Sheiks invade McCormick’s life, and he's forced into a shotgun wedding. (guest staring Cheryl Ladd as the Arab Princess) Later, Hardcastle performs first ever ”shotgun divorce.” Also, Hardcastle and McCormick’s first kiss.

Episode 5: Duet For Two Wind Instruments
Hardcastle and McCormick have finally agreed to set a date for their wedding, but McCormick begins to have second thoughts after realizing how “flinty” the Judge can be. Also, is he really ready for marriage? Later, Hardcastle and McCormick take their first shower together. Episode concludes with Hardcastle uttering now famous “tea-bagging” line.

Episode 6: It Coulda Been Worse…She Coulda Been A Welder (Series Finale):
Hardcastle and McCormick can barely be bothered to mouth their lines, and their supercar is revealed to be a flimsy plastic shell tied over a poorly constructed go-cart. War is declared. There is a battle between apes, humans, and mutants for control of Earth. Fall turns to winter, and winter to spring. Ennui settles over the set like a heavy fog. The band of hyper-sophisticates who put on the show have all grown blasé and world-weary. The prevailing attitude now is one of fatigue and bored estheticism. It’s all so farcical, so absurd! Everyone commits suicide. Bob Newhart wakes up and sees that it was all a dream. Bob Newhart kills himself.
