This month's big music news is the new CD from Baboon: Something Good is Going to Happen to You. It's full of singalong-in-the-car rock--you know, the kind that makes you drive faster, and the passengers nervous. Don't worry backseaters--I'm just rocking.

The Baboon release party (at Dallas's Curtain Club) on Halloween was special and it touched me in places I had forgotten about. Opening for Baboon was the Paper Chase (I saw, I liked) and the Legendary Crystal Chandelier (I missed).

If you weren't with me at the Baboon show, I sure as hell hope you were rocking the NYC peep show scene, Psychos! style. According to Johnny Murder, "It was like playing in a space-age Pizza Hut, haunted by the ghosts of a million masturbating pimps." Since I was out of town, you'll have to take his word for it.

While you're at it, take his word about the Psychos! anniversary party in Williamsburg on Oct. 26th. Or don't - I was there I can tell you: it killed. He says: "After the show we swam home through a swamp of dead and dying hipsters and art-fags. Cause of death: ROCKICIDE!!!"

I say he's just about right.

The show featured the birth of two (2) new bands:

  • Pink Mistake (a furry pink mess of awesome)

  • and Alice Wakeman and the Ghostlys, starring Corn Mo as Wakeman, and Denton, TX legends Dave Wallin (of the Grown Ups) and Sam MCCall (of Brutal Juice).

Don't miss this:

  • Tonight in NYC at Siberia, MOI? (fronted by former Wild Lyxx guitar man Pete Kohl) is playing for free.

  • Next Saturday, November 16th, the Psychos! will be at Siberia.

  • centro-matic just finished recording their next album with Varnaline's Anders Parker. Look for them on the road in December and January.

  • Corn Mo hosted "The Poseidon Adventure" on AMC which should be shown in the coming weeks. He and Magic Brian will be performing every Thursday (starting December 5) at Cinema Classics in NYC.

  • Look for more kittenpants live performances in upcoming variety shows to be put on in NYC. Details to come...
