In issue 18, we were a bit short-sighted in not interviewing Knife SKills' third member: Jerel Johnson. So, here are his responses to the same interview questions. Close your eyes and pretend he was there the whole time. Thank you.

kp: What was the first record you ever bought?
jj: It’s a tie: Quiet Riot’s “Cum on Feel the Noise” and Culture Club’s “Colour By Numbers” were purchased the same day. I have never been the same.

kp: Who is the first band you ever saw in concert?
jj: Jane’s Addiction, Pixies, and Primus. Since Primus opened, they were the “first”. The Pixies were the best.

kp: What's with the "not so tall" guy?
jj: I hear he’s interview shy.

kp: How tall are you?
jj: Five-eight.

kp: Is your name some altered version of "Jor-el" (Superman's Dad)?
jj: My parents thought "Jeremiah" was too trendy because of the Robert Redford movie, but they liked it enough to take the first 4 letters of the name.

kp: When you were invited into the band, were you also invited into the bed?
jj: Not yet, but you’ve seen Deron. I can’t wait.

kp: What does the world look like from your height?
jj: Average.

kp: Who would win in a fight, Shellac or Rape Man?
jj: Steve Albini, of course.

kp: What is your favorite NYC band(s)?
jj: Television, or the Talking Heads.

kp: Favorite Retton song?
jj: I Hate Robot Spiders (especially after they explained it to me).

kp: Favorite Banes song?
jj: I hear "Haus of Bavaria" is good.

kp: Favorite Devo song?
jj: "Freedom of Choice".
