INTERVIEW: Pat Mastroianni
aka "Joey Jeremiah"

kp: Did you keep the hat that you wore on the show?
pm:
One I still have, the other I sold for charity last year and got 1000 bucks for Multiple Sclerosis. Unreal!  You know I had about a dozen of those hats back then...D'oh!

kp: What is the craziest fan letter you've received?
pm:
This one guy from Boston sent me a letter a week for about 5 years. The same letter, in the same handwriting, with the same words--very strange. I hope he calls me.

kp: Who was your favorite character on Degrassi (other than yourself)?
pm:
Yick was pretty cool, but they didn’t do enough with his character. More of the gang violence would have been great...he pulls Arthur into a classroom, rolls him for his wallet...stuff like that.

kp: What are Junior High Canadian thuggies like?
pm:
Kind of like Screech from Saved by the Bell

kp: If you and Mario Lopez ("Slater") formed a band together, what would it be called and what would it sound like?
pm:
...I guess that we would call ourselves "Zits and the Black Head".  Heavy metal, thrash...maybe a Kid Rock kind of groove.

kp: Who's better: Patrick Swayze or Patrick Duffy? Which actor (besides yourself) is the best "Pat"? Is it Noriyuki "Pat" Morita?
pm:
Wax on wax off my friend.

kp: How many times have you seen RED DAWN?
pm:
Once.  Can’t find it on DVD.

kp: Am I right in thinking that "Wheels" got his nickname because his parents died in a car crash?
pm:
I guess you're not as big a fan of the series as I thought. If you were, you would know that the "Wheels" real name is Derek Wheeler...

kp: That's just what they want you to think.
