INTERVIEW:
Lee!

by kittenpants
(with help from Jon Cunningham)

Tenacious D, Greatest Band on Earth, had everything. Well, almost everything. They were missing one key element-a number one fan. Enter Jason Reed (aka "Lee") - fan, actor, writer, trucker.

Kittenpants (with some help from Jon Cunningham) gets to the heart of the Greatest Fan on Earth.

kp: How did you get the job as "Lee?"
lee:
I am the #1 fan of the D...period. I saw their first gig and undoubtedly more gigs than any other living person. And then there's the fact that I am the quintessential friend and that's a special thing, yo.

kp: Is your "Tenacious D rocks" t-shirt (from the episode you're in) hand made? It looks like puff paint.
lee:
It was handmade, yep and correct, cat-o, it was puff paint. Now they make them in large machines sans puff paint and sell them for lots of dough that I never see. But its kickassicus anyway.

kp: How often do you get recognized on the street as Lee?
lee:
Rarely, but have. Usually its a bagger at the supermarket or a punk-ass skate rat.

kp: What are some of the fringe benefits of being Lee? Have you scored because of it?
lee:
I get to hang with all the rock stars the D rock and hang with. And yes... I'm single and like to mingle.

kp: Is there a down side?
lee:
Yeah, the two grumpy dudes that the D often become...shhhh!, I didn't say that.

kp: Do your friends all call you Lee now, or do they still call you Jason?
lee:
My friends call me J.R. which is actually my professional name (I'm an actor and writer too).

kp: What about your mom?
lee:
She calls me Sonny Boy. What's it to ya, cat o' nine tails?
