First record bought: Sheena Easton "For Your Eyes Only" (more for James Bond than Sheena Easton) and Prince "Little Red Corvette".

First concert: The Kreed, Feast of Pigs, Baby Faye and the Heartless Baboons and Bend Sinister, circa 1985 at Hollywood's in Chattanooga, TN--a bunch of local punk bands. I had to walk through the ghetto to get to the club and got my ass kicked by some black guys en route. Some punks pulled up in a car and saved me, thus securing a place in my heart for punk rock...uh, and extremist politics.
